Commemoratives & Legacies

Every culture has a practice built into its social structure to pass down stories and acquired knowledge from one generation to the next. It’s human nature. However, the fast paced existence of the last half of the 20th century steered our progressive civilization away from this practice, but the trend is now being revitalized bigger than ever before to recapture the roots of our individual heritages. Genealogy, personal histories, and self published recollections of individual lives and ancestors are becoming more and more popular. Genealogy has become one of the highest growth areas of interest in recent years primarily because of the Internet. More than any other hobby, genealogy relies almost entirely on sharing information. Family history comes alive when the more interesting details of individual family members are explored, concerning their education, occupations, life styles, migration patterns, service to their country and community, interests, etc. StarGroup has a proficient staff of writers and researchers to help relay your history as well as highly talented graphic artists to capture the perfect visual image in which to package that story.

Rose & Henri
By Juliette de Marcellus

Juliette de Marcellus is a writer who pursued a career as a prize-winning music critic and journalist. Her writing has been praised for the depth of its understanding of European art, history and social culture. This understanding is apparent in the fascinating account of her parent’s life, which she sees as an adventure, a love affair and a sociological study. Miss de Marcellus was in a position to use her ability as a writer when she assisted her father in preparing his anthropological studies. Added to this, and her interest in music, was a talent for painting which she pursued under the tutelage of her mother, who was herself a talented artist. These shared interests gave her special insights into the unique personalities of Rose Gordon Clark and Henri de Marcellus and the world from which they came.

Stories the Warm the Heart
By Edna Hibel

World renown artist Edna Hibel has a museum bearing her name on the John D. MacArthur campus of Florida Atlantic University in Jupiter, Florida. A recipient of numerous awards and honors, she received the prestigious Leonardo da Vinci World Award of Arts from the World Cultural Council at Utrecht University in the Netherlands in 2001, the first American woman to be so honored. She is one of the world’s foremost leading authorities on oil painting, watercolor and the art of lithography and has often been referred to as the Unites States’ best colorist and most versatile artist. Originally from Chelsea, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston, she is a founder of the Boston Art Festival and has received a Medal of Honor and Citation from Pope Paul II as well as a Medal of Honor from the late King Baudouin of Belgium. Her art has been exhibited in more than twenty countries on four continents, including the White House in Washington, DC, and she was the first foreign woman to be allowed to exhibit her art in the People’s Republic of China, the former Soviet Union, and the former Yugoslavia. The prolific artist, now well into her 80s, continues to produce quality paintings.
